Certification & Compliance
Assembling, repairing and manufacturing products for the aviation industry means observing strict quality requirements and meeting all compliance standards. We guarantee that all Unit Load Devices that we assemble or return to service are airworthy and meet the industry’s highest standards.
Because safety is paramount in aviation, ULDs (Unit Load Devices) must be certified by the relevant Civil Aviation Authority (e.g. FAA and/or EASA) before they can be loaded into an aircraft.
At Diatom Aviation, we pride ourselves on being to deliver excellent assembly and repair services that comply with all regulatory requirements, including all applicable TSO standards established by all relevant regulatory authorities and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).
Diatom Aviation is certified to repair and assemble air cargo related equipment under FAA Part 145, which allows us to restore the airworthiness of a ULD (Unit Load Device) and place it back into service. Diatom Aviation also stands ready to earn European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) certification, if and when our customers require that in addition to, or in lieu of, FAA certification.
Technical Standard Order (TSO)
All ULDs we service – both containers and pallets – are repaired in accordance with all applicable Technical Standard Order (TSO) requirements established by the OEM manufacturer and the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), which oversees the performance standards for the materials, parts and appliances used on all common aircraft types. This means you can be certain that any ULDs leaving our facility meet all aspects of the standard to which they were built, including with regard to base size and contour, load ratings, restraint conditions, fire resistance, degradation, testing and markings.
